Authors: Tony Minotti
Categories: Journal

Abstract - The world has changed in a short duration of time. Previously acceptable behavior is now considered intolerable by society, and social distancing has become the norm. The COVID-19 virus has changed educational instruction, especially for language learners. Educators have had to devise new and creative ways to teach communicative classes. This paper examines the advantages and disadvantages of selected pedagogical technologies. Specifically, this paper will discuss how a learning management system (LMS) works, how it can be facilitated on to tablets and smartphones, and the limited tech support for free LMS software. Video-conferencing will also be examined, particularly, reading a person's body language, the ability to give real-time feedback, and the concerns of all participants having a viable internet connection.
